Girls basketball is back in action following a brief holiday break. Highlights in Week 2 include a huge upset in overtime and a final second three-pointer
Week 2 By the Numbers:
5 Straight losses to Jefferson, a streak Plant broke with a 60-55 overtime victory. Seniors Nicole Sivyer and Kelly Brennan combined for 30 points.
10 Seconds remaining in the game when Academy of the Holy Names’ Sarah Davis hit a three pointer to seal the 52-51 victory against Academy at the Lakes. The Jaguars improved to 5-0 with the win.
12 Combined steals by Andrea Aaron (7) and Clarice Devine (5) in Chamberlain’s 52-38 victory. Devine led the Chiefs with a game-high 18 points, while Devine added 14.
28 Points by Tampa Catholic senior guard Micah Kroll in the Crusaders 47-29 victory against Berkeley Prep. Kroll completed the double-double with 12 steals.
47 Combined points by Tesha Hanson (12), Monet Williams (14) and Faith Woodard (21) in Riverview’s 61-21 victory against Durant. The win improved the Sharks to 5-0.
3-0 East Bay’s record after the Indians defeated King, 38-34. Senior captain Jasmine Queen led the team with 13 points.
