Durant’s Cole Gilliam has had his recruitment heat up the past few weeks, and the senior offensive lineman is heading out soon on a few trips that could weigh heavily in his decision-making process.
After visiting UCF two weeks ago, Gilliam will visit N.C. State in two weeks, when the Wolfpack host USF, and will make an official visit to Idaho in December, his father, Sean, said Friday.
Gilliam, a Tribune All-Hillsborough County second team selection last season who also earned Class 6A all-state honors, holds scholarship offers from Elon and Florida International. However, several additional programs have showed increased interest the past few weeks, including Villanova, Louisville and Wagner, along with UCF and N.C. State.
Durant (1-1) travels to Newsome (0-2) tonight. The Cougars have never defeated the Wolves, who own a 3-0 mark all-time in the series.
