Former Gaither standout Jarvis Giles is leaving the University of South Carolina.
The State, Columbia, S.C.‘s newspaper, reports that Giles wants to play somewhere else. With the emergence of freshman running back Marcus Lattimore, Giles’ role on offense has been limited and he’s basically been playing mostly special teams.
Gaither coach Mark Kantor said in recent talks with his former player, Giles was unhappy with his role on the team. Giles originally committed to the University of Tennessee, but de-committed when head coach Phil Fulmer was replaced with Lane Kiffin and signed with South Carolina.
If Giles transfers to another Division I school, he will have to sit out for a year.
