Q: For the first time I can remember, the Bucs have almost clinched the playoffs early AND can virtually be assured to play at home against the Giants. You should mention that realistically there is about a 90 percent chance that will happen unless Seattle falls apart drastically, which probably doesn’t happen. We could basically start game-planning for the Giants now. I think it’s a good matchup for us at home. What do you guys think, interesting it’s even a probability.—Dave Morgan, Deerfield Beach (from Tampa)
A: Dave: Seattle doesn’t have to fall apart for the Bucs to grab the No. 3 seed, although the Seahawks do own the head-to-head tie-breaker. It looks like the Giants will be coming to Tampa in the first round, but don’t be shocked if the Bucs finish 12-4 with an eight-game winning streak and own the No. 3 seed in the NFC. That could be crucial in terms of going to Green Bay for the divisional round instead of Dallas.

I am just glad to see this team playing well together w/o the starters. I hope it teaches the coaches to look beyond the obvious.
Now, go enjoy a great game!

Hmmm, discussing playoff seeds. Things are nice here in Tampa in December. Discussing playoff seeding will be a very interesting topic if the Bucs win today against Houston and either Green Bay or Seattle were to lose. That would tighten things up in Green Bay, keep the Bucs in a Must-Win mode.
Here’s to getting Bennet some more plays, getting Pittman and Clayton back on the field, and to Luke McCown getting a few more snaps just in case we need to rest Garcia some more.
Bucs getting deeper as year goes on....have Dallas and Green Bay peeked already.....Good Times.

I sure hope the players don’t think the way you do. They have a very good chance of finishing 3rd. With 4 games left and only one game back HELLO! There’s still football to be played.

I’d agree with playing Green Bay over Dallas if it wasn’t in Lambeau during winter. Why in the world do we want our hot weather team that has very very rarely done well in cold temperatures to head out and play a crucial playoff game in one of the toughest stadiums to play in?

Live long Bucs fan (born and raised in Tampa)… Why don’t we just look at the current week since we have not clinched ANY playoff spot yet. Love the BUCS and am psyched for some Bucs playoff football but lets take it one game at a time. Ok?

All I hear is talk about the Cowboys now that I am living here in Dallas. I am a LIFE long Bucs fan since the Buc’s beginning. Most of the Cowboy fans are fair weather fans which grinds my guts. I get razzed when I wear Bucs shirts it is friendly, but I do not like to here it. I always dreamed of the Bucs knocking the Cowboys out of the playoffs on their Field when the Cowboys are the favorite to make it to the Superbowl. It looks like that is going to happen. My 5 year old daughter wears her Alstott jersey every Sunday. I still have several shirts, hats, bumper stickers with the old logo that I wear proudly. Please Bucs take these Cowboys DOWN!!!

Bucs...so close...As Gen Lee said before Gettysburg “ It’s all in Gods hands now.” The whole Bucs org did a great job and we found two potentially great quarterbacks. A great year - exceeded all our expectations- “BRING ON THE PLAYOFFS DOG!!!!!GO BUCS!!!!!!

Call me nuts; but I would rather go against Manning than Peterson.

The Bucs have a realistic shot to finish anywhere between seeds #2-#4. Ok granted it would take a big collapse to get up to #2, but lets see how hurt Brett Favre is. With the liklihood of getting the #3, it would be very interesting if it was Minnesota that had to come down to play in Tampa. Becareful what you wish for.....Get ready Barrett Ruud!! We’re gonna need you!

I like that Idea to finish seeded #3. But they must run the tables. I see Tampa winning out right 12-4. Because Seattle will lose to Arizona . I then see Tampa playing Minn at Home. The lowest Seed then Goes to Dallas while we go to GB. The we play for the NFC championship.

Seattle will lose two of their last four games and the Bucs will likely only lose one. The Bucs will get the third seed, which means we play the team that survives the battle of mediocre .500 teams. Giants go to Seattleā¦

If the Giants stay to the ground they could run over and through the Bucs defensive front seven. But...Eli will more likely throw it into the arms of Rhonde, Derrick or Tannard! Should be a fun game to watch! Go Bucs!
