Kenneth Durden, a senior defensive back at Lowndes High School in Valdosta, Georgia, has given a verbal commitment to the University of South Florida, Lowndes coach Randy McPherson confirmed Monday morning.
A three-star prospect by both Rivals.com and Scout.com, Durden also claimed offers from Louisville, Cincinnati and Mississippi State, among others. Durden had 35 tackles and three interceptions entering his team’s quarterfinal playoff game last week.
Durden’s commitment was not a product of USF’s recent win over Miami; he made it public to a few outlets last week.
