Guards Kenny Boynton and Erving Walker were second-team all-league picks in the vote. Kentucky was picked to win the title, followed by Vanderbilt.
Last week Kentucky was ranked second nationally in the preseason ESPN/USA Today coaches’ poll while Vanderbilt was seventh and Florida was 10. Alabama was ranked 17th and Mississippi State was among the teams receiving votes.
Kentucky sophomore Terrence Jones was the preseason pick for the conference player of the year. Vandy’s John Jenkins was No. 2 in the voting.
