Former Gator All-American Omar Pinzon earned 17 total All-America honors when he competed for Florida from 2006-2010. He added to his résumé Sunday by capturing gold in the 200-meter butterfly at the 2010 Central American and Caribbean Games in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico.
Last season’s second team All-Southeastern Conference selection finished with an official time of 1:58.99.
Other Gators who competed included Shaune Fraser, Raul Martinez and Brett Fraser, finishing third, sixth and fifth in the 100 free.
Pinzon took silver in the 50-, 100- and 200-meter when he competed at the Games in 2006. He also took third place as a member of the 800-meter free team.
