Garcia Not At Practice Either

TAMPA - Well, Jeff Garcia apparently isn’t available for practice either.
The Bucs just took the field for their Wednesday workout and Garcia was not among those participating in calisthenics or individual drills.
It’s really looking like Brian Griese will be the starter Sunday against the Falcons, but we’re still not sure if it’s because Garcia is nursing a sore ankle or because he struggled against the Saints.
It could be a little bit of both, but consider this. Griese spent more time working with the first-team offense in training camp and preseason than Garcia did. Coach Jon Gruden probably felt as though he owed it to Garcia to give him the start against the Saints, but with Garcia struggling, hurt and the Bucs suddenly in a position to fall to 0-2 in the division, he’s turning to the quarterback who has worked the most with his No. 1 offense.
Garcia wasn’t the only injured Bucs not on the practice field. Derrick Brooks didn’t appear to be out there either, but as we said earlier, we get the feeling Brooks will play. If not, he seem awfully happy about not playing.
WR Maurice Stovall was participating in practice. He has a neck strain but it doesn’t appear serious. If he plays one of the other receivers may not because Michael Clayton, who sat against New Orleans, is talking like he knows he will play this week.
We’ll bring you more on the injury updates as information becomes available.

i called it…i knew Greise was going to be our starter pretty early in the season. I just didnt know it would be by week 2. No surprises here. He is definitely the better QB for Grudens offense.

I HOPE THIS ISN’T MORE “SMOKE AND MIRRORS” FROM GRUDEN! BUT IF IT IS BRIAN GETTING THE START I HAVE TO WONDER HOW EFFECTIVE GALLOWAY WILL BE SINCE THE ONLY QB THAT HAS HAD THE PRIVILEDGE OF THROWING LIVE, FULL SPEED BALLS TO HIM IS GARCIA. I THINK BRIAN DID A GOOD JOB WITH THE REST OF THE RECIEVING CORPS IN CAMP. DON’T REMEMBER HIM THROWING ANY PICKS IN PRESEASON. I ALSO THINK THE GREY TIGER IS LOSING CONFIDENCE IN HIMSELF. I LIKE JOEY BUT IT SEEMS HIS HEART IS NOT IN IT. I HOPE HE’S NOT VIEWING THIS SEASON AS JUST A PAYCHECK.

Both Jeff Garcia and Joey Galloway have a lot to give this season.
They looked out of sync on Sunday, but they will both be out there and back to their best in no time.
Believe it.

Dunn was given the day off like Galloway. Garica didn’t practice because he has to catch a plane to Boston, & not for the Red Sox game. Carmella, we’ll miss you. Griese never has to hit Galloway. If Joey just spreads the field it can help Ike, the backs & the TE’s. If he is open, well throw him the ball. This should be an improvement over last week. Gruden saw it, he knows. You can’t bash him on this decision. I do believe that the heat will be on Monti & our “D” with the firepower the Falcons showed last week. Our “D” as usual is the key to victory.
