Bucs QB Jeff Garcia left a non-contact drill suddenly with an apparent leg injury.
The Bucs shut down the drill immediately, and began administering to Garcia.
Garcia was placed laying face down on a trainer’s table, with an ice bag wrapped around his calf. Garcia was then transported by golf cart to the locker room where he walked into the room under his own power but limping noticeably.
Garcia’s injury may not be the only serious injury suffered by a Buc. Starting DT Jovan Haye also left the field early after suffering an apparent groin injury.

Kurt, you’re right, nobody remembers anything around here, especially YOU!
Griese was never 11-5 for us! We were 4-1 one season, despite his efforts to make us 1-4 before he got hurt. He went 4-1 against the weakest teams in the league up to that point and he absolutely sucked in every game except one. Griese was turnover prone and limited athletically then, what do you think a crumpled knee and two years worth of beatings in Chicago have done to this 30+ year old mediocre QB?

Maybe so Chris, But, I still believe if they knew they had a QB, they’d got’n A.Peterson at #7, and used the #21 pick to grab there OL (a few good ones that yr) Could you imagine, D.Anderson, A.Peterson, B.Edwards, K.Winslow….damn!!! and yes, McCown is the future in Tampa, and hopefully for Buc fans its sooner rather than later!

Hey Mike Henry. That’s a good one. Favraneer. It looks like it may be time to pull the trigger. I still wouldn’t give up a 1’st round draft choice. The trade should be done in the next few hours. Now the Bucs are on the clock. We still have Luke & Josh & that other greaser guy…what’s his name?

McCown=not the Future, although I hate to admit good point on Griese

Wow, how the nonsense builds. Simms? We’ve already been through his 0-4 start; let’s move on. Greise however, was 11-5 as our starter. Apparenty nobody remembers anything around here. Garcia will be back and Greise has his back while McCown is the future. Stop acting like McCain; always jumping the gun and giving bad ideas for solutions!

Hey Barrett I would like to remind you that Cleveland didn’t pass on peterson to take Quinn they passed on Peterson to take the best player in the Draft, Joe Thomas. Thomas was dominant last year and while A.P was stellar as well he played behind the best O-line in the NFL. W/O thomas Anderson wouldn’t have played nearly as well, and neither would A.P.

I’m just an outsider looking in, not really a Bucs fan…But, Bucs fans, I see alot in L.McCown that I saw in Derek Anderson before he got his chance, I do agree garcia is not the answer, or Simms, but I think if McCown ever gets his chance..he may surprise alot…didnt he have acouple 300yd games last year in very limited time?? I bet Cleveland wishes they knew they had a QB,in Anderson before they passed on A.Peterson in last years draft!

Scott Warner let me start by thanking you for taking the back of the most talented QB we have Chris Simms. With that said I must laugh at the fact you actually believe cleveland would trade Quinn for Garcia, McCown, and Griese. Lets rewind a minute, McCown was traded to us friom Cleveland for a 6th round pick if I remember correctly, Garcia played for Cleveland and they didn’t even offer to bring him back, and no one want Griese, so for Cleveland to Trade a possible franchise QB for a couple scrap-heap Qb’s is Absurd. Maybe one of them and a second and forth rounder and you could contemplate a deal but no less!!!

Zep,
Gruden totally made the right decision on getting Gains Adams instead of Quinn. Adams is going to be a dominate force at DE. What has Quinn done lately, Adams is more of an answer then Quinn.
Scott,
Chris Simms sucks !! Quit trying to sell dreams !! What the heck is in the air in GA ?

Zephyr, you may have the solution lets trade Garcia,MCcown, and Griese to cleveland for Quinn. Never been a fan of him but he has potential.

Chuck, If you really believe Garcia is our best chance(The guy has never not had a injury free season with any team he has played for)I respectfully disagree. And as far as batted down passes let the kid work out of the shotgun formation. Regardless I support our teams decisions(thats what they get paid for) I would be willing to bet Simms reaches the superbowl before any other qb on our roster(If you do not think he has the most potential of our qb’s go back to watching arena football. I’m sure when Simms was winning us games with an awful offensive line you were complaing then as well. But like I said I respectfully disagree with your observations but we can all agree we just want whats best for our team

I figured as much. Garcia is lame. Simms is not the future. McCown will be nothing more than a career backup. Griese is, well, throws a “greised” up football to the other guys too much.
And, Favre might get us a year or two of quaterbacking for a hefty price tag if Tampa gets him.
Tampa blew it last year by not drafting Brady Quinn when he was still on the boards. Gruden’s desperation (need) to win screwed that all up.
We need a new QB and a new head coach.
It’s the same ol’ same ol’.......
Last years division title dropped into Gruden’s lap by attrition in the division. Plain and simple.
Who’s got the metamucil????????

Scott - great idea! and while were at it we could get shorter linemen - cause Simms, when he gets it over their heads - will be able to hit our 6 foot plus receivers. Oh yeah, now I see that’s why we took Dexter in the draft - he’s 5-09 - he won’t have to duck down when Simms is throwing the ball. It will hit him in the chest - not the knees like all the other recievers. It’s a minot injury stop whinning and don’t start panicing just yet.

Hubbard, your comments are old, lame, crippled & just plain stupid. Keep them to yourself so this space isn’t contaminated by them.
Posted by scott wanner, blue ridge, Ga on 07/31 at 10:13 AM
This is why our deph chart should be Favre,Simms,Mcown, and Johnson. Trade garcia, The future of this team is Simms. Given the opportunity with the improved offensive line, running game and not to mention the shotgun formation(which he ran at Texas) This should be a wake up call to team management. Give greenbay a 3rd round conditional pick and greise, then trade garcia to minnesota or chicago to regain the pick and let Favre groom Simms(Remember Simms has one of the best deep balls I’ve ever seen

Brett Favre just got more expensive.
Posted by Ron Hubbard, Tampa on 07/31 at 10:07 AM
Yep now we know why the Bucs have a bakers dozen of QB’s on the roster. Most of them are either old, lame, crippled of just plain stupid, so the Bucs have to have a plethora of them.
