Tampa Bay appears to be holding QB Jeff Garcia, OL Jeff Faine and FB B.J. Askew out of practice.
Garcia is not at the practice field, while Faine and Askew are on the sidelines, but not in pads.
In addition, DT Jovan Haye and WR Chad Lucas just walked into practice, but will not participate because their injuries.

I thought the damage could not be repaired between chris and jon…chris could not play for him.. no trust..2.5 million for riding the pine in 07..where is chris?.. thats right, he,s in BUCS CAMP> Brian has better judgment, Luke has a higher release chris is 4th at best knows the playbook but doesn’t trust himself..he get reps in preaseason games but only to up his trade value

Why don’t you guys go to training camp and look what’s going on for yourselves? Its obvious none of the above posters know who is taking reps and how many they are taking. What a joke.

With Garcia Hurt, and Griese doesn’t look that good, and I don’y he want to talk about rookie Johnson. How about really giving QB Chris Simms who put his life on the field that game two years ago. He was a #3rd Round Pick wasn’t He. I feel that the Bucs are trying to overlook him just like they traded Steve Young when Tampa had Vinny. SO HOW ABOUT LET SIMS TAKE SNAPS AND LET SEE IF HE PERFORMS BETTER THAN ALL OF THE QB’S. I HOPE THAT THE BUCS DON’T MAKE ANOTHER QB MISTAKE LIKE THYE DONE IN THE PAST.But if Jeff Garcia is the number one guy. Then Pay Him, Tampa has the money. Lets move on about QB Brett Farve in the past tense. Thats work on our backups and move towards the first game of the regular season agains THE SAINTS.

I figured that Griese couldn’t get out of his habit of throwing ints. I read earlier that Simms was looking great out there. I would be more than happy to have him around, assuming that his performance included D-linemen to bat down his passes. If he has gotten over that, I think we’re looking good at QB with McCown around and Johnson potentially for the future. I really think McCown should be No. 2 as long as he can get past the mental errors. I’ll have to watch Simms in the preseason to see how he looks before I could even consider him as No. 2.

I’m with you guys.Simms has gotten a terrible deal, no player has ever played after losing their spleen and somehow he’s no good. He has the best arm to spread the field like Garcia can’t. Griese is TERRIBLE everywhere he plays ultimately, trade him, someone always seems to want him.

I read Simms was getting more reps than anyone thought he would, and looks as good as anyone in the qb corps,...I personally wish fans would quit ripping the guy, sheesh, what’s he done? Plenty of guys aren’t happy where they are and they hold out and all types of sh**, what’s this guy done wrong to make him such a goat…?

Simm’s video posted on this site last week out of college, when he was boasting,“pick me"was some of his best work. His only problem is instead of throwing footballs down field into empty trash cans there are a bunch of hungry DL looking to rip his head off. As a QB, this has got to be expected but he hasn’t gotten over it yet and it shows. How long do you wait for him to get his head straight? Is one, two three years a legit time to wait for him? It works when you are set at all other positions and you don’t need that roster spot. But the BUC’s nor many other teams have that luxury.

Let go Griese? We did that once and Simms proved that his OL was just too tall. This was also a problem for him in college. He has an OL heighth problem, a confidence problem and the worst case of the jitters (self admitted mind you)of any muliyear QB out there. He needs reps. so we can get something in return for our investment.

McCown is ahead of Simms? Is Simms getting any reps? I think hes still pretty decent and we should keep him, and let go of Griese.

All of you Simms lovers are hilarious; I mean really! Where have you heard Simms was doing so great? I was at a few practices and he can’t throw a ten foot pass worth a damn! He looks TERRIBLE people. Get your heads out of the clouds. And btw - Griese and McCown both looked VERY SHARP! Furthermore, Griese owns the Bucs highest QB rating ever and posted an 11-5 record as a starter for us. Simms is done; get over it!
