Ganther named new Academy basketball coach

Academy of the Holy Names has a new basketball coach.
Melissa Ganther has been appointed the girls varsity basketball coach. Ganther recently coached the Christ the King middle school girls basketball team and also spent the past two summers coaching travel basketball teams.
Ganther graduated from the University of Virginia where she was a member of the women’s basketball team on a full scholarship. After her collegiate career, she played overseas in
Germany and was an assistant women’s basketball coach at the University of Virginia for two seasons.
