Bucs Report
Galloway Looking Doubtful For Bears Game

Joey Galloway doesn’t believe the Bucs will miss him all that much if he can’t play Sunday.

“I’ve always said this group is as deep a group of receivers as I’ve been around,’’ Galloway said Thursday. “I expect these guys to do well. I don’t think we’ll loose anything without me in there. Whoever plays my position I think we’ll be jut fine.’’

Antonio Bryant will probably play in place of Galloway if Galloway can’t go and it’s beginning to look like that will be the case. Though Galloway is walking around again, he said he still has not begun the rehab process on his foot.

He said he sprained his foot when he got “rolled up’’ on during a play in which running back Warrick Dunn was being tackled. He tried his best to keep weight off the foot on Monday and is making progress but he could do further damage to the foot if he comes back too soon.

It’s a good possibility then that the Bucs will simply give Galloway this week off and hope their reserves can make up the difference against the Bears. Galloway will definitely miss practice today, and that’s another sign he will probably miss the game. Galloway has missed a lot of practice already this year. More time off won’t help the quarterbacks get in sync with him.

the thing about a Dexter Jackson go route is that every def coordinator knows that no one will be able to get him the ball. the DBs could just let him run past 30 yards or so because Griese or Garcia wont get it much farther. I think the WR core is not as bad as people make them out to be but they have to be put in a position to succeed and i think thats where the problem lies. without a QB that can stretch the field the D collapses down and with the D close to the line the play book becomes alot smaller. if The Bucs had that QB with an accurate big arm that can deliver the 25/30/40 yard pass consistently (with the occasional 50/60 yarder) then the underneath routes will open and there will be much more opportunity for YAC.

Wow, Joey’s not too bright. He doesn’t even know how to spell “lose” when he’s talking to reporters. Roy, you should probably correct that misspelling for him.

KBA echoed my thoughts when I read Galloway’s statement. They may be deep, but are any of them any good??

Lets see a Dexter Jackson go route just once, to spread the defense at least.

Interesting comment about a group of receivers that have yet to show us anything in 2 games with the exception of Ike and one player does not show me we have depth.  Maybe he meant depth of mediocre players then?

Hopefully they will step it up.  I am very excited about our Running game though and hope to see more of the same from them.  Go Bucs!!!

Any chance Dexter Jackson see’s time as a Receiver in Galloway’s absense?
