Gaither squads in American Legion postseason

Gaither’s American Legion A and B squads each are playing in the postseason this week.

After finishing with the best record in the district, the A squad advanced to the Central/Southwest Area Tournament in Bradenton. The Cowboys won their first game against New Port Richey Post 789, and will play again today in the double-elimination tournament. The tournament winner advances to the state tournament in Fort Pierce later this month.

The Cowboys B squad has already advanced to the state tournament after winning both the district and Central Area tournaments. The team opens play today in the double-elimination tournament in Bradenton against Delray Beach Post 188.
