Malcolm Carney, who graduated last month from Gaither after leading the Cowboys’ boys basketball team in scoring the last two seasons, has signed a scholarship with Brevard Community College, his AAU coach, Ben Bromley, announced Monday night.
The 6-foot-3 Carney, a guard, is the fourth Hillsborough County player from Bromley’s Bay Area Hurricanes team to sign a college scholarship. Carney joins Ryan Bethoney (Montreat) of Bloomingdale, East Bay’s Dario Duque (South Georgia Tech) and Riverview’s Jamal Evans (Polk State).
