Freeman the talk of - Charlotte?

CHARLOTTE – I have no idea what the fans and radio talk-show hosts are talking about in Tampa this morning but the people in and around the Charlotte airport are all abuzz today about one man – Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman.

“We’re you headed to today,’’ the driver of the rental car shuttle bus asked.

“Tampa,’’ my associate, Anwar Richardson said.

“Tampa? Man, I can’t believe that Josh Freeman,’’ the driver said. “He looks like the real deal. I’ve got Brett Favre on my fantasy team, but I’m goinmg to pick up Josh Freeman as a free agent.’’

“Excuse me,’’ the gentleman sitting at a table outside the airport’s Carolina Pit BBQ restaurant said. “That Josh Freeman kid, where did he play his college ball?’’

“Kansas State,’’ Anwar and I said.

“Oh, Ok, thanks.”

“You going to pick him up for your fantasy team,’’ Anwar asked.

“No,’’ the man said. “I don’t play fantasy. But that Freeman kid sure looked good in that game yesterday.’’

Freeman did look good, indeed. He completed 12 of 24 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns, didn’t throw an interception, had a passer rating of 102.4 and ran the ball four times for 43 yards.

No wonder so many people are talking about him.
