Freedom senior wrestler Chandler Nipper achieved the benchmark in the sport at last week’s Hillsborough County Championships at Wharton.
He also made program history.
Nipper became the first Patriots wrestler to reach 100 career wins during a run to a fourth-place finish at 135 pounds. Nipper went 5-2 at the event, reaching the 100-win milestone with his third win, and was the only Patriots wrestler to place in the top six.
The previous program record for career wins was 75, according to Patriots coach Brian Chevalier, which Nipper surpassed earlier this season.
Nipper, a four-year varsity wrestler and a team captain this year, enters Saturday’s Class 3A-District 6 tournament at Riverview with a 102-37 career record, including a 31-4 mark this season.
