Nothing in the way of Rowdies news today, but there have been some very interesting developments on the national stage, especially in regard to soccer on television.
Firstly, the UEFA Champions League final, to be staged on a Saturday for the first time this season, will also be broadcast on over-the-air television in the U.S. for the first time by Fox.
Fox Sports Florida and Fox Soccer Channel have been the home for U.S. television coverage since Fox usurped ESPN for the rights to the tournament prior to this season, but it was initially expected the final may end up being shown by Fox cable channel FX. This season’s final is scheduled for May 22 at Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, home of Real Madrid.
Elsewhere, the excellent EPL Talk side has confirmed that ESPN has upped the number of games it will show on its networks next season from 48 to 83.
In NASL news, NSC Minnesota has announced Manny Lagos will be its new head coach.
Lagos was already the Director of Soccer Operations for the club, and as a player was a three-time MLS Cup winner, once with the Chicago Fire and twice with the San Jose Earthquakes.

I remember watching Lagos play for the Mutiny. A quality player. Now we got two former Mutiny players in coaching positions, Lagos and Ralston. And we Rowdies have Van Der Beck in a techinal position. Lots of Mutiny influence around!
