Youngstown State head coach Eric Wolford named former USF assistant Rick Kravitz defensive coordinator on Friday.
Wolford was an assistant at USF with Kravitz when the program first started. Wolford was named head coach at Youngstown State on mid-December.
Kravitz will also coach linebackers for the Penguins.
“Rick has always coached an aggressive style of defense that constantly makes the offense feel pressure,” Wolford said. “His style of defense will be one our players enjoy and will suit our program perfectly.’‘
A native of St. Petersburg, Kravitz spent the past two seasons at Western Michigan coaching the Broncos’ safeties.

Any update on Leavitt to Oklahoma? The other speculative candidate (Ruffin McNeil) has taken the ECU head coaching position.

I did talk to a Oklahoma beat writer about Leavitt and he said to his knowledge there hasn’t been any real movement there. However, he says Stoops has enough political capital at the school that should he want to hire Leavitt, it shouldn’t be a problem in the wake of Leavitt’s exit from USF.
