Former TC star Schmidt impressive at Dayton

Former Tampa Catholic High track and field star Maddi Schmidt is enjoying an impressive sophomore season at the University of Dayton.
At last weekend’s Atlantic 10 Championships in Rhode Island, Schmidt placed fourth in the 60 meters hurdles and 7th in the triple jump. Tying a personal best, she ran an 8.93 seconds in the hurdles and her triple jumped mark of 37 feet, 11.5 inches established a new lifetime best.
Schmidt is already in the all-time top five of six events at UD, with both her triple jump and hurdles marks putting her in the No. 2 position all-time for the program.
