Former Plant pitcher Kayla Suskauer has been named the Southern Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week after helping Furman to a series sweep of Samford this past weekend and picking up the save against Georgia earlier in the week.
Suskauer, a freshman at Furman, pitched five scoreless innings, allowed one hit and struck out two batters to seal her first career victory in Furman’s 5-2 win over Samford on Saturday.
Suskauer has not given up an earned run and has allowed only two hits in eight innings against conference competition. She has not surrendered an earned run in any of her last five outings.
