Former Pasco High receiver Chaise Dunn honored

After yanking down the game winning touchdown grab against Gallaudet on Saturday, Former Pirates receiver Chaise Dunn was named the U.S. Merchant Marines Academy’s Athlete of the Week.

So how did he earn the award?

On the final play of that game, Dunn caught an 11-yard pass from quarterback Derrick Venture to tie the game, 34-34. The extra point gave the Mariners the 35-34 victory.

Ironically, that was Dunn’s lone catch of the game. He also was the holder on extra point conversions Saturday.
