Football Thinktank Says Bucs Will Play .500 Ball This Year

TAMPA – Predictions for the 2010 season are starting to roll in and as you might expect most have the Bucs winning five or six games and finishing at or near the bottom of their division.

There is at least one group of prognosticators, however, that believes the Bucs will win more regularly than that, and these aren’t a bunch of guys blogging from the corner of their mother’s basement.

The folks who put together Football Outsiders Almanac, a highly-detailed and well-researched volume that some NFL teams refer to regularly, have the unheralded Bucs winning eight games this year.

They base their conclusion on a number of factors, including a relatively soft schedule, the development of players and up down the roster and the belief that quarterback Josh Freeman will throw fewer interceptions.
