Good afternoon and Happy Mother’s Day to all (especially my mom and grandma up in Georgia and my mother-in-law in South Carolina).
As has become the custom in MLB, everyone will be using pink bats today, and all will be wearing pink wristbands as well. All of the bat manufacturers have really taken to the cause; Rays clubhouse manager Chris Westmoreland said all of the bat companies just go ahead and make pink bats for everyone and ship them out, assuming they’ll be used.
The Rays’ lineup features one little tweak, with Cliff Floyd in there as the DH making his first start since April 6. Eric Hinske is simply getting a day off. Joe Maddon said the regular alignment against righties will be Floyd at DH and Hinske in right.
No roster moves before today’s game, but Gary Glover and Ben Zobrist both could be activated tomorrow. Zobrist will get the pins out of his thumb tomorrow morning and said doctors have told him he could be cleared to play the same day. The Rays will wait and see how he comes out of it.
Here are the lineups:

another day, another gabe gross start, watching this bum hit is a disgrace, the last two acquisitions of gross and haynes have been horrible, these guys are bums,we have a talented rf in the minors named ruggiano whose tearing the cover off the ball,14 games at durham .375 avg,.467 obp,3 homeruns,12 rbi and 8 stolen bases...why is he not in right field?btw hes also a righty, something the rays desperately need, instead we are watching the bum gross..14 games,.200 avg,2 homeruns, this is unacceptable!!!
