Forum: Talk Rays
|
The new arrivals so far this morning are Cliff Floyd and Ben Zobrist.
Floyd rather endearingly showed up with his gear in a black trash bag—“That’s how we roll,” he declared.
The 35-year-old OF/DH (sounds like he would prefer to do more of the latter) is being counted upon to provide some veteran leadership, but he maintains his primary goal is to help the Rays win. That said, he certainly doesn’t expect people to look to him as a guy who will carry the team, just because he’s been around so long.
“I’m not going to try to be Superman,” he said, before noting that Superman has a locker right next to his in the clubhouse. That would be Carl Crawford.

Smart planning with Floyd next to Crawford. He’s been asking for some veteran leadership on this team for awhile, and Floyd can only help. I’d be curious to know where Percy’s locker’s at as well. Next to Kaz, Shields or Garza would be my guess.

Wheeler has the locker closest to Percival, and Shields is next to Wheeler.
Garza, Sonnanstine and Kazmir are all next to each other on the row of lockers perpendicular to the rest of the pitchers
