Florida received 56 of 60 first-place votes in the Associated Press writer’s poll announced this afternoon. Texas remained No. 2 with two first-place votes while Alabama jumped to No. 4 and got the other two first-placed votes.
The big mover in the poll was BYU, which jumped from 20 to No. 9 this week after a 14-13 win against Oklahoma last week. The Sooners fell to No. 13.
In the USA Today coaches’ poll, UF stayed No. 1 with 56 first-place votes. Texas is No. 2 with a pair of firsts and USC No. 3 (the Trojans are also third in AP) with one first-place selection.
Miami moved into both polls after beating Florida State on Monday. The ‘Canes are 20th in AP and 22 in USA Today voting. FSU dropped out.
