Dominique Easley, a 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive end from Curtis High in Staten Island, N.Y., announced during Saturday’s Under Armour All-America game that he is signing with Florida in February.
The move came as a surprise and is a huge addition for many reasons. Rated by many as one of the nation’s top 100 recruits, he decommitted to Penn State earlier in the week and surprisingly chose Florida. He is being recruited by acting head coach Steve Addazio.
Easley said he wanted to play with “the best of the best.’‘
Florida also got a commitment at the game from Pahokee wide receiver Chris Dunkley, rated the nation’s No. 2 wide out recruit by ESPNU.
Dunkley (5-11, 175) said of Urban Meyer taking a break to work on his health: “I feel by him working to take care of himself, I’m not too mad. . . . I’ve got to do what is best for me.’‘
UF currently has the nation’s No. 1 rated recruiting class, with 13 recruits on ESPNU’s Top 150 list.
