Florida running back Mike Gillislee scored his second touchdown of the game with a 5-yard run with 12 seconds left in the third quarter, giving the Gators a 24-10 lead over Tennessee. It is the sophomore’s first two-touchdown game in college.
It was set up from an interception by UF cornerback Jeremy Brown that gave the Gators the ball on Tennessee’s side of the field.
What was a tight 10-10 game became a 14-point lead for the Gators. It all stemmed from a fake punt that took the Gators 36 yards to the Tennessee 25 yard line. Quarterback John Brantley found Lynden Trail in the back of the end zone. The Gillislee touchdown came less than five minutes after Florida scored on the Brantley pass.
