Florida Gators softball players Kelsey Horton and Michelle Moultrie made the Capital One Academic All-District 4 First Team honor roll Thursday for the second consecutive season. Horton graduated from Durant High School.
Moultrie and the Valrico, Fla., native will advance to the 2012 national ballot for Academic All-America consideration. The two extend UF’s consecutive streak of having at least a player named Academic All-District to 11 seasons.
Horton is studying nutritional sciences and has a 3.7 GPA, and she has been named to the SEC Academic Honor Roll.
The junior catcher leads Florida in doubles (7) through SEC play. Both she and Moultrie have no errors defensively this season.
