St. Pete Catholic’s stunning upset of Tampa Catholic last Wednesday night certainly shook up the Class 3A-District 10. So much so, a coin toss is necessary to determine the No. 1 seed for next week’s district tournament.

Tampa Catholic girls basketball coach Nancy Kroll said a meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to conduct the coin toss.
That is comes to a coin flip is somewhat surprising. St. Pete Catholic snapped the Crusaders 15-game winning streak with the 71-63 victory, handing Tampa Catholic only its second loss of the season and its first district loss. Tampa Catholic led 29-24 at the half, but things fell apart in the second half. With two of the Crusaders leading scorers ailing, SPC outscored them 25-14 in the third.
Since both teams have just one loss in the district and split the head-to-head meetings, a coin toss will settle who is No. 1. Don’t be surprised if these two teams meet again in the finals for the district championship.
