Dominique Jones scored a game-high 20 points and Augustus Gilchrist added 17 points and a key block late in the game, lifting USF to a 75-68 win over UConn.
The Bulls enter the Big East Tournament on a three-game winning streak and are once again on the NCAA Tournament bubble, finishing with a .500 record (9-9) in the Big East for the first time in school history.
The win came before a season-high crowd of 8,317 at the Sun Dome on Senior Day.
The Bulls enter the Big East Tournament as the No. 9 seed.
“I couldn’t be prouder of that group of guys,’’ USF coach Stan Heath said. “There are a lot of heroes in that locker room. This crowd meant a lot today.’’

Great win.
I think that it took time for usf to get adjusted to having Gilchrist back and it cost them 1 or 2 games. I am sure that people thought but nobody wanted to say, before Gilchrist came back, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Now that they are used to having him back, they will be even better. There is definite bias against usf. Before this game, Jay Billas was saying that UCONN could play there way back onto the bubble by beating usf and never said a word about usf getting on the bubble. That made no sense. Remember my usf 72 unconn 65 prediction?

Hey, that was a nice call on your part…I was a little surprised myself that so many were talking about UConn still on bubble and not USF…that’s nothing more than name-recognition in college basketball. thanks for commenting.
