TAMPA USF improved to 2-0 on the season with a 37-7 rout of Ball State Saturday night at Raymond James Stadium.
The Bulls amassed 519 total yards of offense behind a career game from junior quarterback B.J. Daniels, who completed 28 of 39 passes for 359 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Daniels’ yardage total was a career high and the fourth-highest single game total in program history.
The USF defense limited Ball State to 218 total yards, 76 in the first half, while forcing two turnovers. The Bulls special teams unit also came up with a turnover for the second consecutive game, with safety Mark Joyce returning a fumble on the opening kickoff 17 yards for a score just eight seconds into the game.
No. 22 USF hosts Florida A&M next Saturday.
