Former Sickles High and current Duke University women’s basketball freshman Amber Henson will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee injury, school officials told the Raleigh News and Observer on Wednesday.
According to the News and Observer, Henson, The Tampa Tribune’s Girls Basketball Player of the Year in 2011, will have surgery on Friday to stabilize her kneecap.
Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said the team will apply to the NCAA for a redshirt season for Henson.
