Former Riverview High football player Jason Harmon will end his collegiate career in a national all-star game.
Harmon, who recently completed his final season at Florida Atlantic, will play in the 2010 Texas vs. The Nation All-Star Challenge. The event, an all-star game featuring Division I senior football players, will be played Feb. 6 at Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas.
Harmon, a tight end, was the leading pass catcher in 2009 for the Owls and earned first-team All-Sun Belt Conference honors after finishing with 48 receptions for 649 yards and six touchdowns. Harmon finished his career with 138 receptions for 1,745 yards and 13 touchdowns.
According to the Texas vs. The Nation website, 93 percent of the participants (111 of 119) in last year’s game signed an NFL contract.
