Former Plant High baseball standout Dylan Brown, a 37th round pick by the New York Mets in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, has signed with the pro club.

Brown, an outfielder who spent this past season at the University of Tampa, has been assigned to the Mets’ rookie-level affiliate in the Gulf Coast League.

While Brown has yet to make his pro debut, several other 2010 draft picks with local ties have, including Robbie Anston (Sickles/Boston College), A.J. Pinera (Sickles/University of Tampa), Jared Simon (Armwood/Tampa), David Richardson (Hillsborough/Hillsborough CC) and Jadamion Williams (Brooks-DeBartolo).
