Northern State football player Thomas Parrott, a Plant High product, recently earned a pair of all-conference honors.
Parrott, a junior, was named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference North Division all-conference first team as a punter, and also picked up the North Division’s second-team honor as a kicker.
Parrott was second in the conference with a 39.4 yards per punt average. As a kicker, he converted 18 of 19 extra point attempts and 7 of 11 field goal attempts, with a long of 39.
Parrott was a second-team all-conference selection in 2008.
Parrott handled punting and kicking duties for the Panthers during their 2006 state championship season. He also was an accomplished pole vaulter on the Panthers’ track and field team.
Northern State, a Division II program, finished its 2009 season at 2-9.
