Former Blake High running back Vernon Hobbs was sentenced on Wednesday to two years in a Florida state prison for his role in a string of armed robberies in 2007.
A spokesperson with the Hillsborough County state attorney’s office said Hobbs, 19, pleaded no contest to five counts of robbery with a firearm Wednesday and received a two-year prison sentence, followed by two years community control and one year of probation. Hobbs was sentenced as a youthful offender.
Hobbs was arrested in April 2007, during his junior year at Blake High, after detectives accused him of robbing four Tampa businesses (one was robbed twice) with a .22-caliber semiautomatic pistol in less than two weeks. Four other individuals also were charged in the robberies.

Hey Adam, its funny how no one really seen that report on lashbrook. Until you have to tell the very few where it is. You couldn’t have put it in a better place.

My question is how did this kid get sentenced as a “youthful offender” when he committed armed robbery with a gun?
