PISCATAWAY, N.J. USF will head into the final quarter of Saturday night’s matchup at Rutgers with a 10-3 lead.
The Scarlet Knights produced the lone score in the quarter, a 33-yard field goal from San San Te that came after USF’s first turnover of the game. On a Rutgers punt, Victor Marc attempted to field the ball off a bounce in traffic and couldn’t handle it, and the Scarlet Knights recovered at the Bulls 12.
USF linebacker Sam Barrington came up with a key sack on third down to minimize the damage, but the made field goal brought Rutgers within a score.
The Bulls offense missed out on a scoring chance, with kicker Maikon Bonani failing to convert on a 47 yard field goal attempt.
