SYRACUSE, N.Y. Through one quarter of action at the Carrier Dome, USF leads Syracuse, 3-0.
The Bulls took advantage of great field position on their opening drive to strike first. Syracuse’s Jonathan Fisher shanked an 11-yard punt to set USF up at the Orange 40 to start.
The Bulls drove into the red zone before stalling and settling for a Maikon Bonani 29-yard field goal that gave them a 3-0 lead at the 9:59 mark. USF has now scored first in all nine games this season.
USF’s defense has allowed only three first downs and 43 total yards through Syracuse’s first three possessions.
