After one quarter of play at Raymond James Stadium, it remains a scoreless game between USF and Western Kentucky.
Both teams had a chance to put points on the board, but each team’s kicker missed a field goal attempt.
The Bulls special teams had performed particularly well until Eric Schwartz missed a 26-yard try late in the first quarter. Punter Justin Brockhaus-Kahn had a 56 yard punt downed inside the WKU 1 yard line, and punt returner Terrence Mitchell had a 27-yard punt return that helped set up Schwartz’s attempt.
The Hilltoppers offense had a 14-play drive to open the game and drove to the USF 25, but a 40-yard field goal try was no good.
The Bulls offense has managed 32 total yards in its first two possessions.
