Elliot Johnson sent to Royals as PTBNL in Shields/Myers trade

PORT CHARLOTTE The Tampa Bay Rays sent infielder Elliot Johnson to the Kansas City Royals as the player to be named later in the trade that sent James Shields and Wade Davis to the Royals in exchange for outfielder Wil Myers and three other prospects.
Johnson was designated for assignment Feb. 5 along with infielder Reid Brignac when the Rays signed free agent pitcher Kyle Farnsworth and free agent infielder Kelly Johnson.
