Storm receiver Hank Edwards has a chance to join some elite company if he has a big game Friday night against New Orleans.
Edwards needs 135 receiving yards to reach 1,000 for the season, and if he gets that mark he’ll become just the ninth player in franchise history to post a 1,000-yard receiving season.
The Storm certainly could use the big game from Edwards, who was kept out of the end zone for the first time all season in Monday’s loss to Chicago. The good news for the Storm is Edwards had his best game of the season in the Week 3 loss to New Orleans with 12 catches for 188 yards and five touchdowns.
Here is the franchise’s 1,000-yard receiving club (name and year, with yardage total in parenthesis):

Stevie Thomas - 1992 (1,228); 1995 (1,002); 1996 (1,089)
