East Carolina makes pitch for Hillsborough’s Lovett

Hillsborough junior Charles Lovett, the Terriers’ leading receiver the past two seasons, landed his third college scholarship offer Friday when East Carolina University made the sure-handed receiver an official pitch.

The 5-foot-8, 170-pound Lovett also has offers from the University of South Florida and Towson (Md.) University. Last season, Lovett came up with 44 receptions for 1,108 yards eight touchdowns to earn first team honors on the Tampa Tribune’s all-Hillsborough County football team. As a sophomore, Lovett led the Terriers with 34 catches for 703 yards and nine TDs.

Lovett has been a starter since his freshman year at Hillsborough.
