East Bay senior baseball player Chris Newcomb has committed to Saint Leo, Indians coach Billy Colome announced Thursday.
Newcomb, an outfielder, hit .306 with three doubles, two triples, two home runs and scored a team-best 17 runs last season. As a sophomore, Newcomb hit .321 and also led the team in runs scored with 18.
Newcomb intends to sign his National Letter-of-Intent with the Lions, a Division II program that competes in the Sunshine State Conference, on Monday.
