East Bay’s Cox visits ISF headquarters

East Bay senior pitcher Kayla Cox, the 2009 Tampa Tribune Hillsborough County Softball Athlete of the Year, was invited to the International Softball Federation headquarters in Plant City on Wednesday, where she met with ISF president Don Porter and toured the facility.

The ISF is the world governing body of softball as recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF). The ISF also organizes and conducts world championship competition in women’s and men’s fast pitch, junior women’s and men’s fast pitch, women’s, men’s and coed slow pitch and women’s and men’s modified pitch.

Cox, who has signed with N.C. State, has allowed two runs this season in 92 innings pitched and is 9-1 overall on the mound with 174 strikeouts. East Bay (11-6-1) plays in the annual Jon Sinclair Memorial Spring Fling Tournament this weekend.
