TORONTO—Durham pounded Louisville 9-1 tonight to win its first-round playoff series and advance to the Governors’ Cup finals against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Catcher Matt Spring, who was moved up from Montgomery to take John Jaso’s spot after Jaso was recalled to the majors, drove in six runs for the Bulls. Jonny Gomes added another homer and Mr. Jon Weber went 4-for-5 for Durham.
Wade Davis allowed one run in six innings while striking out seven.
The Bulls open the Governors’ Cup on Tuesday in Moosic, Pa.
