Durant senior offensive lineman John Piascik is headed to Division II West Virginia Wesleyan University, Cougars coach Mike Gottman said Monday.
Piascik becomes the third senior member of the 2007 team to get a chance to olay at the next level. Tight end Royce Rose (walking on to Florida Atlantic) and offensive lineman David Zanato (headed to NAIA University of Saint Francis) are the others.
In other Durant recruiting news, Gottman said several schools have been inquiring about 6-foot-5, 339-pound junior offensive lineman Cole Gilliam, who earned all-state honors last season. Gottman said Gilliam doesn’t have any scholarship offers to date, but the coach anticipates that to change in the near future.
