Former Land O’ Lakes great and Florida State signal caller Drew Weatherford will join the Tampa Bay Storm when they convene for training camp next week, according to Gators coach Matt Kitchie.
Weatherford, who ended his high school career as Pasco County’s and Land O’ Lakes’ career passing leader with 7,756 passing yards and 79 TDs, ended his Florida State career having completed 644 of 1,128 passes for 7,567 yards, 39 TDs and 32 INTs.
This will be Weatherford’s most recent opportunity post-FSU. He participated in tryouts for the Chicago Bears, New Orleans Saints and the New England Patriots. He also tried out for the Orlando Tuskers of the year-old United Football League.
