When Jefferson broke from its first fall workout Monday, a 2 1/2 hour session morning session, Dragons coach Mike Fenton had nothing but positives to relay as his team headed to the locker room.
“Obviously we want to be organized and we want to be spirited, which we were,” the coach said. “We wanted to take what we learned over the summer and make sure that transforms back into today.”
One of the biggest luxuries the Dragons enjoyed was a team full of veterans (Jefferson lost just two starters from 2009), which allowed them to hit the ground running full speed.
“We don’t have to really start out putting anything in, explaining anything new. We just kind of took up where we left off, which is a good thing,” Fenton said. “That kind of put us ahead of the game a little bit.”
