Alonso’s Demonte McAllister verbally committed to Florida State last month but that hasn’t stopped the phone calls and mail from other Division I programs.
That includes the USC Trojans. As one of more than 25 Division I programs to offer the Ravens defensive tackle a scholarship, USC recently called and requested McAllister’s transcript.
USC will be one of the many colleges McAllister plans on visiting this fall. He says his commitment to FSU is a firm one, but he wants to check out some of the other college campuses.
“I have to go through the clearing house and once that is done, I’ll decide when I want to take official visits,” McAllister said.
As for FSU, “they call and check up on me all the time,” McAllister said.
