Delgado named Ridgewood boys hoops coach

It didn’t take long nor did Ridgewood have to look far for its next varsity boys basketball coach, as the Rams have promoted junior varsity coach Derrick Delgado to lead the team according to the school’s athletic director Tom Wellington.
“(Delgado) helped us out last year as a volunteer,” Wellington said. “He was going to be our junior varsity coach this year. He’s a great guy and were excited to have him. We thank Mike Bua for everything he did at Ridgewood and wish him the best at his new job.”
Bua, who was the coach of the Rams the past two seasons, stepped down as coach last month due to a newborn child and a new teaching position at Schwettman Education Center in New Port Richey. Ridgewood went 15-12 last season under Bua.
